Profile: Kirsten Nørgaard

Kirsten holds an MA in Danish Literature and Art History and works as a Communication Consultant in Rambøll Denmark, a consulting engineering subsidiary of the Rambøll Group.

One of her main tasks is to manage Rambøll Denmark's intranet where she is responsible for all communication sites and news. Besides she is the editor of the internal employee magazine and several external publications. She is one of the promoters of Rambøll's new digital library.

It is often said that the major difference between the Internet and the intranet is that the target group on the intranet is well known. However, that is not the fact in all companies, so in spite of working in the same company the employees can be quite a differentiated group and cannot be seen as a unit with common wishes and requirements to the intranet.

So how do you find out what wishes and demands the employees require in order to make the intranet part of their daily tools?

I chose the persona tool and based on that I created 5 personas; one for each education group represented in the company.
