Tutorial 3B: My first AJAX application

This is a half-day technical workshop by Jonathan Downes and Joe Walker.

AJAX is the latest approach to delivering a highly interactive web interface. It will have a major impact on the interfaces of Content Management Systems and the web sites they power. This workshop provides developers with an introduction to AJAX and enables them to quickly produce their own AJAX code.

The workshop is organised into these sections:

• An overview of the impact AJAX is having on user interface design for all websites, and the help it can give to web CMSs
• Do-It-Yourself AJAX! Hands on coding considering: security, browser compatibility and pitfalls to avoid.
• Simplifying AJAX development using the latest support tools.

The workshop will be of interest to those wanting a technical appreciation of AJAX or developers with responsibility for the web user interface. For a high level introduction to AJAX come along to the presentation at the conference.
