Tutorial 1: Enhancing the value of your intranet

This is a full day tutorial by Martin White on the steps that you can take to ensure that your intranet continues to meet the needs of users.

It is important to ensure that an intranet develops to meet the changing needs of the organization. In this workshop Martin will set out some good practice in intranet management, and facilitate contributions from delegates with the objective of providing a range of stimulating actions that can be taken to enhance the value of your intranet.

Among the topics that will be covered are:

• The importance of developing an intranet strategy
• Supporting content contributors, including putting RSS into usage
• Developing a framework for standards and good practice
• The importance of an effective intranet search engine
• Using an intranet to support collaborative working
• The value of usability testing

This full-day tutorial will be based around a set of ten critical success factors that Martin has developed over the last six years of intranet consulting in Europe and the USA.

The aim of the tutorial will be to provide delegates with an opportunity to learn from both the presenter and other participants.
